What is the difference between duplex and super duplex stainless steel?

• Duplex stainless steel (often shortened to just duplex steel or duplex) is more durable and twice as strong as traditional stainless steel.  This means that the same amount of strength and durability can be achieved with a smaller amount of metal.  As a result projects can achieve the same (or better) results but with a lighter product.
• The different alloys that make up this steel also give it a high resistance to pitting, cracking and corrosion.
• Super duplex, as the name implies, has all of the qualities of duplex only more!
• The extra chromium, nitrogen and molybdenum used in the making of super duplex steel make it even stronger and with higher resistanceagainst corrosion and pitting than duplex steel.
• The higher strength and corrosion resistance than stainless or duplex stainless, makes super duplex stainless steel best suited to very demanding applications, such as work in the mining, chemical, petrochemical, energy, marine, and pulp and paper industries.
